2014-03-14 By Liu Yufen (chinadaily.com.cn)

A new version of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Protecting Consumers’ Rights and Interests will be officially implemented throughout the country on March 15, the International Consumer Rights Day.

Themed as “new law, new rights and new responsibilities”, a large-scale promotional activity is to be carried out in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as an initiative of the Inner Mongolia Industrial and Commercial Administration and Inner Mongolia Association of Consumers.

Six phases are planned for the whole activity: there will be a one-month consumers’ rights protection promotion, television quizzes about the new consumers’ rights law, a special rectification to correct inequalities in the catering industry, new law-related symposiums by local industrial and commercial departments, questionnaires in key sectors and industries, as well as a promotion and inquiry surrounding consumers’ rights protection which will be carried on March 15 throughout the region.
