Hand-drawn artwork of Hohhot's nighttime scenery has recently gone viral on social media.

The art depicts some of the most famous parts of the city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, such as the century-old restaurant Deshunyuan and City Mall.

Residents in the city have expressed their enthusiasm for the drawings.

“Hohhot is so beautiful at night! I wasn't aware of that before seeing these pictures,” said a man, who asked not to be identified.

The artist, Wang Ying, a freshman from the International Modern Design Art College at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) loves drawing.

“I am from Jiangsu province and I have never been here before. Inner Mongolia is different from what I expected. I thought people here were all living in Mongolian yurts,”said Wang.

Wang claims that she fell in love with the city on the first day that she came here.

“People here are very kind and honest. I remember that an aunt paid for me on the bus because I didn't have any change,” Wang recalled.

She intends to continue creating artwork to educate more people about the charms of the city.
