Data centers start construction in Horinger

Two data centers, as part of Inner Mongolia Data Center Park have recently started construction in Hohhot's Horinger New Area.

With China Telecom investing 17.3 billion yuan ($2.68 billion), the park is the biggest cloud computing data center under construction in Asia.

A total of 42 data centers and one exhibition hall will be established in the park which covers 1,000,000 square meters. Six data centers are currently in operation, managing over 300,000 servers.

The latest A8 and A 10 data centers are estimated to be invested in 240 million yuan and will be installed with some 4,000 server racks. It will improve the park's data storing capacity for the development of Horinger's cloud computing industry.

Thanks to the government's preferential policies for high-tech industry, a large number of cloud computing projects will be launched in Horinger New Area. This year will see 93 major related projects operate in the areas of ecological greening, infrastructure, high-end technology and public services, attracting an investment of 83.3 billion yuan.

As of the end of May, 16 major projects have started construction, which received actual investment of 1.58 billion yuan.
