Construction work started on an intelligent manufacturing industrial park located in Horinger New Area, Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 12.

With total investment of 1.86 billion yuan ($270 million), the park is designed to cover an area of 474 mu (31.6 hectares).

The new industrial park aims to attract high-level firms operating in advanced technology industries, especially players in emerging sectors including big data, new energy, new materials, high-end manufacturing, and biotechnology.

The first phase of the park is set to be completed by mid-November this year.

So far, 23 firms have agreed to base themselves in the park.
