Baotou choir wins bronze prize at CICF

Nanzhisheng Choir from Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, stood out among choirs from around the world and won bronze at the 14th China International Chorus Festival (CICF), according to an Aug 9 Baotou Evening News report.

Founded in 1992, CICF was approved by the State Council and is the largest and most important international chorus art event held in China. The festival is held every two years and is now in its 14th session.

The number of domestic and foreign choirs that have participated in the biennial festival has so far reached more than 60,000.

Some 15,000 fans and 308 choirs attend this year’s event, making it the largest event in the history of CICF.
