As the fall vacation season approaches, herdsmen in Chifeng have been preparing to embrace tourists from across the country by practicing their horse-lassoing skills, decorating and renovating Mongolian yurts, and improving entertainment facilities and services.

Ulan Butung or Wulanbutong in Mongolian literally means “red-colored altar-shaped hills”. Ulan Butung Prairie is located in the southwestern tip of Hexigten Banner.

Apart from enjoying the fall scenery, tourists can experience local Mongolian ethnic customs and traditions first-hand.
