Hohhot airport reports record Spring Festival

Hohhot Baitai International Airport has revealed that it handled a total of 204,000 passengers during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, an increase of 14.3 percent from the same period last year.

The airport, which serves the capital city of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was served by 1,760 flights during the holiday period, up 8.2 percent on last year.

Each day saw an average of 29,170 passengers pass through the airport, a daily increase of 3,639. And Feb 10 was busiest for flights, with the number peaking at 295 –– a record high.

This year, airlines added additional routes for Spring Festival, with new flights to nine cities including Wenzhou, Zhuhai, Yantai, Xinyang, and Xuzhou. And flights have been increased to an additional 29 cities.  Hohhot airport reports record Spring Festival
