Some 500 teachers and students – from Hohhot, Baotou, Xiliin Gol League and Ulaanqab -- took part in a gala staged in Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Sept 22, according to a report in the Baotou Evening News.

The event was jointly hosted by the Education Department of Inner Mongolia, the Publicity Department of the CPC Inner Mongolia Committee and the Civilization Office of Inner Mongolia.

The organizers said that it was staged in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China and included singing, dancing and musical instruments performances.

The huge achievements made by the autonomous region were presented to the audience through the passionate performances of the teachers and students.

Officials said the event served as a platform for displaying local talent, as well as for cultural exchange.
