Inner Mongolia set to boost cultural, tourism development

North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region is set to boost the integration development of its cultural and tourism industries, local officials said.

It will also create a series of brands featuring cultural elements of the Mongolian ethnic people this year, according to information presented at the 2020 Inner Mongolia Cultural and Tourism Working Conference, which was recently held in the capital city of Hohhot, according to the organizers.

Building unique brands

They said efforts will be made to strengthen artistic creations and productions. Efforts will also be made to create unique "Inner Mongolia Music" and "Inner Mongolia Dance" brands.

Improve public services

Officials said the government will speed up construction of tourist toilets and tourist service centers, and expand the construction of digital libraries, digital cultural centers and Mongolian literature centers.

Strengthening protection, use of cultural relics

The government will implement its Yellow River cultural system protection project and start pre-construction work of the Great Wall National Cultural Park.

Protection, inheritance of intangible cultural heritage

The government will launch intangible cultural heritage sightseeing routes and organize Yellow River intangible cultural heritage exhibitions.

Strengthening development of culture, tourism industries

A plan to establish an Inner Mongolia Culture and Tourism Group and a tourism development fund will be carried out this year.

Strengthenung resources development, utilization

The government will stage the Inner Mongolia Tourism Development Conference, continue to build a tourism demonstration zone and build the Yellow River cultural tourism belt which will have an international influence.

Improved market supervision

The government is moving to improve the level of services at tourist attractions, as well as to improve tourist accommodation and travel agencies through an upgraded market supervision plan.

Strengthening foreign exchanges and cooperation

The government will continue to deepen cultural exchanges and cooperation with neighbors Russia and Mongolia -- and continue to build the "Ancient Tea Road" international tourism brand.
