Ulaanqab aims to be internet marketing incubation base

2020-07-08

Ulaanqab city -- in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- is ramping up its efforts to build an internet marketing incubation base for northern China, according to local officials.

As results of the government’s efforts, the China Northern Internet Emerging Industrial Park -- along with the Inner Mongolia Internet Marketing Demonstration Base and the Ulaanqab Internet Marketing Industry Base -- unveiled their nameplates in the city in a ceremony on July 3.

Local officials said internet marketing has become a major opportunity for regional development. Internet commerce -- such as selling products through livestreaming -- has become the major business phenomenon in the mobile internet era.

Ulaanqab is rich in tourism resources, has many natural green agricultural and sideline livestock products, with obvious regional cultural characteristics.

Officials said its e-commerce industry has developed rapidly and the city has all the elements in place to become a major player on the internet.

They said that the newly established internet marketing carriers will integrate the resources of all parties to create diversified marketing platforms. These will help promote the integrated development of Ulaanqab’s tourism, industry, folk culture, special agricultural products and rural e-commerce -- and further increase the city’s popularity and expand its influence.

Relying on its regional advantages and related industrial resources, the government of Ulaanqab will also provide all-round support for the development of an internet marketing incubation base in the city.
