Inner Mongolian zone promotes tourism in Shenyang

2020-07-09

A tourism promotional event for Wulagai management zone -- located in Xiliin Gol League, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- was held in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, on July 3, according to local officials.

It was hosted by the Party working committee and management committee of Wulagai, they said.

Musicians and dancers from the Ulan Muqir art troupe in Xiliin Gol League and the Wulagai cultural center performed during the activity. Their lively rendition featured the matouqin, or the horse-headed fiddle, as well as Mongolian folk dances.

The Wulagai management zone -- located at the junction of Xiliin Gol League, Hinggan League and Tongliao city in Inner Mongolia -- covers a grassland area of 5,013 square kilometers.

Officials said it is one of the best-preserved natural grasslands in the world, boasting hundreds of kinds of herbaceous plants and abundant animal species -- making it an ideal grassland tourism and leisure region.

With many natural landscape scenic areas and historical and cultural sites, officials said the zone is now playing host to the best tourism season of the year and is welcoming visitors from across the country including Shenyang.
