Inner Mongolia cities unify municipal administration

2020-09-22

Residents and businesses in four of its major cities of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region will enjoy much more convenience, after the cities moved to unify the handling of administrative matters from Sept 20.

The initiative was the result of an agreement recently signed between the capital of Hohhot and the cities of Baotou, Ordos and Ulaanqab on synchronizing government service admin.

Companies and residents in their cities can now bring applications and other forms to their local government service halls to handle matters related to the other cities.

At present, the things that can be handled include the establishment of pharmacies, modifications and renewals of drug store licenses, and license applications for maternity and child health technology service institutions.

What can also be handled includes ID card processing, approvals of private travel documents and approvals of investment projects.

Areas that were also consolidated included urban construction waste disposal approvals, approvals for the relocation of ancient trees, the temporary occupation of urban green land, green land use, as well as approvals of water and soil conservation plans for construction projects.

Han Wenxiang, director of the Hohhot administrative approval and government services bureau, said that processing and approval results can now be easily checked in the four cities.

Moving forwards, the cities will continue to expand the scale of administrative integration and improve their standardization and coordination of government affairs, he said.
