Baotou Airport's total number of passengers witnessed rapid growth and stood at 51,341 during the eight-day national holiday period from Oct 1 to 8, witnessing a year-on-year growth of 8.3 percent, reports Baotou Daily.

The airport operated 508 flights during the holiday period, representing a year-on-year growth of 27.6 percent.

The popular destinations of the flights included Beijing, Nanjing of Jiangsu province, and Hangzhou of Zhejiang province, maintained the highest seat occupancy rate.

To provide tourists with more convenience, Baotou Airport added a new direct flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia, on Oct 1. The flight is scheduled to fly three times two weeks.

Also, a direct flight from Baotou to Pattaya, Thailand, was launched on Oct 3, scheduled to fly twice a week.
