Baotou municipal government has released a series of policies and measures to boost employment in the city including business-guaranteed loans, and employment assistance for college and university graduates.

Special funds of 345 million yuan ($54 million) were raised in the year to facilitate employment, and 323 million yuan was spent, with a year-on-year growth of 15 percent. Expenditures for unemployment insurance funds were 126 million yuan, and 42.5 million yuan were for interest payments on business-guaranteed loans, benefiting 70,000 people. Various types of employment and business subsidies amounted to some 500 million yuan.
