Baotou Airport saw increased passenger numbers over Dragon Boat Festival, which took place from June 16 to 18, reports Baotou Daily.

The airport handled 14,400 passengers over the three-day holiday period, with numbers peaking on June 16.

Dragon Boat Festival takes place in summer with high temperatures, thunderstorms, and frequent flooding. In recent years, Baotou Airport has strengthened links with various agencies to ensure it is well prepared for inclement weather. In addition, it has strengthened flight monitoring, and taken steps to ensure it properly communicates with passengers traveling through the airport.

The airport is also continuing to focus on passenger safety with its security department carrying out regular patrols and inspections.
