IMUST students shine at national drone innovation design competition

Two teams from the Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Association of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST) were in the limelight at a the final of national drone innovation design and application competition targeting college and university students, according to Baotou Daily.

A total of 15 teams stood out from 333 teams from 147 domestic colleges and universities and made it to the final competition held at Xiamen University in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province.

Founded in 2015, the Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Association is affiliated with the School of Information Engineering of IMUST.

The competition aims to improve students' engineering interests, enhancing engineering design ability and boosting innovation in related fields.

Since being established, it has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents, and has achieved good results in national-level competitions.

Hosted by the Electrical Education Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the second Infineon Cup National University UAV Innovative Design Application Competition has also won the support of Infineon and DJI Technology Co.

The participating teams integrate basic functions such as motor control, pressure sensor, radar obstacle avoidance, battery certification, IP protection and GPS positioning.

Through DJI’s SDK developer platform, the main control is programmed, and the remote control or mobile APP is used to realize innovative application design of drones in different scenarios.
