Updated: 2018-08-21

Employment figures in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region remained stable during the fast half of this year, according to an Aug 20 Baotou Daily report.

During the period, a total of 29,400 people were employed in the city –– 70 percent of the target set at the beginning of this year; and 4,973 unemployed people had managed to find employment again, accounting for 71 percent of the target. The registered urban unemployment rate was 0.03 percent lower than the target –– standing at 3.87 percent.

Baotou’s government has worked hard to reduce unemployment and get people into work. For example, 9,012 people found jobs because of the government’s preferential measures for start-up companies, such as the 350 million yuan ($51.00 million) that was provided as entrepreneurial secured loans by the end of July, and the free business training offered to 4,716 people.
