Baotou-made firefighting vehicle delivered to South Africa

By Lu Wei Updated: 2018-12-11

A demonstration model of an airport firefighting truck produced by Beiben Trucks Group Co successfully passed the requirements of South African customers on Nov 28, reports Baotou Daily.

Airport firefighting trucks have higher performance requirements than ordinary firefighting vehicles, and have broad market prospects.

Beiben Trucks Group won the contract in March this year, with the South African customers visiting the Baotou-based truck manufacturer and confirming the truck model and exact specifications.

After the model was selected, the company set up a project development team to conduct project planning, select power components, develop solutions, trial new products and find solutions, and review prototypes.

Funded by seven companies including China North Industries Group, China North Industries Corporation, and Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group, Beiben Trucks Group is a Baotou-based truck manufacturer with total assets of 15.3 billion yuan ($2.22 billion).
