Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia has recently launched a vote calling on residents to vote for the eight best tourist attractions in the city, according to a June 24 Baotou Evening News report.

The activity, co-hosted by the culture, press, publishing, radio, and TV bureau of Baotou and Baotou Daily, is meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It is aimed at showcasing the changes the city has undergone over the past 70 years.

Any landmark or scenic area that somehow embodies the development of Baotou can be recommended. Recommendations should be accompanied by a short introduction and an explanation of why they are a worthy recommendation, using no more than 100 words. A maximum of three photos should be included as well.

Electronic recommendation materials should be sent to the official email for the activity at 1327688819@qq.com. The mailing address for paper materials is Room 203, Baotou Daily, No 20 Wulan Avenue, Hondlon district.

Also, text messages with the name of the recommended place and the name and phone number of the referrer should be sent to 15647203460.

The submission deadline is June 30.

Participants of the activity will receive free tickets to scenic spots in Baotou as a reward for offering recommendations. In addition, 100 prizes will be offered to participants, which will be worth between 100 ($14.53) and 3,000 yuan.
