Beifang Chuangye wins contract worth $107m
Baotou Beifang Chuangye Co recently landed a significant contract for 2,000 C70E freight rail cars worth 734 million yuan ($106.93 million), according to a June 28 report in the Baotou Daily.
Based in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Baotou Beifang Chuangye Co is one of the core subsidiaries of Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group Co, the largest machinery manufacturer based in the region.
It is the designated manufacturer for railway freight cars, and is backed by China Railway Corporation. Industry observers say it is a listed company with an excellent reputation for research and production.
The core business of the company is railway wagon production. At present, it can produce more than 40 models of gondola cars, tank cars, flat cars, box cars, hopper cars and special vehicles.
It makes high-standard brake beams, bogies, axles and similar parts. With its processing and manufacturing of parts and components, the company has a production capacity of 10,000 railway wagons annually.
In recent years, the company has been expanding its international market, and has exported its products to countries in Asia, Africa and South America.
