By Lu Wei Updated: 2019-07-08

The launch ceremony for an ambitious new media convergence center took place in Qingshan district, in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 3, according to a report in the Baotou Evening News.

Qingshan is one of the key demonstration districts for ambitious new media convergence approved by the autonomous region.

The center – which facilitates the confluence of various media channels and platforms -- will bring together traditional forms of media, such as radio and newspapers, with online streaming sites and other new media. Officials said it will not rely on a single point, form or platform, but rather be a multi-point, multi-form and multi-platform facility -- mainly focusing of newspapers, the radio, television and the internet.
