Four projects carried out by China Second Metallurgy Group Co have won Grassland Cup engineering awards, according to a July 12 Baotou Daily report.

The Grassland Cup is the most prestigious award recognizing high-quality architectural engineering projects in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. All domestic and foreign engineering projects undertaken by members of all construction enterprises in the autonomous region are eligible for the award. It is a necessary step for obtaining the China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National Prime-quality Project).

Founded in 1956, China Second Metallurgy Group Co is a comprehensive construction enterprise specializing in engineering projects, equipment manufacturing, and real estate. It is a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), one of the world’s top 500 companies.

The group has a registered capital of 366 million yuan ($53.7 million) and boasts 2,390 engineering and technical management personnel, including 158 people with senior titles and 567 people with intermediate titles. It also employs 89 first-class nationally-qualified architects, 168 second-level nationally-qualified architects, and 106 technicians.

The National Excellent Metallurgical Construction Industry has been praising the company since 1999 and more than 70 of its projects have received national or regional engineering awards. The company also boasts more than 200 national and regional awards and achievements in scientific and technological development and research.
