Baotou vocational college makes great strides

Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational Technical College has been making great strides with its training of youngsters -- with more than 12,000 students receiving instruction sessions annually, according to a July 16 Baotou Daily report.

Located in Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region – known widely as the City of Steel on the Grassland -- Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational Technical College was established in 1956 and is owned by the Baogang Group, also known as Baotou Iron and Steel Group.

The college was official recognized as one of the national high-skilled talent training bases by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2012. Currently, there are 24 off-campus instruction centers covering metallurgical machinery, mechatronics and numerical control.

The college boasts a high employment rate, with 99.32 percent of its graduates finding employment in 2018.
