Baotou high-tech zone reports on H1 industry growth

The Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, reported steady growth for 98 industrial enterprises above a designated scale – companies with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.9 million) or more -- in the first half of 2019, according to Baotou Daily.

The accumulated industrial added value of the city’s three leading industries (rare earths, aluminum copper and electromechanics) increased by 8.7 percent, accounting for 71.8 percent of the total added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size in the city.

The Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was approved by the State Council in 1992. Among the 53 national hi-tech zones in the country, it is the only one dedicated to the rare earths industry and is the only national level high-tech zone in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
