The launch ceremony for an ambitious new media convergence center takes place in Qingshan district, in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 3. Qingshan is one of the key demonstration districts for ambitious new media convergence approved by the autonomous region. The center – which facilitates the confluence of various media channels and platforms -- will bring together traditional forms of media, such as radio and newspapers, with online streaming sites and other new media. Officials said it will not rely on a single point, form or platform, but rather be a multi-point, multi-form and multi-platform facility -- mainly focusing on newspapers, the radio, television and the internet.
