A research institute for multi-metal resource mining co-developed by the Bayan Obo mining district in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST) is nearing completion, according to an Aug 10 Baotou Daily report.

The research institute will focus on developing Bayan Obo mine and tailing resources in order to make full use of mineral resources and be able to mine solid waste.

Construction work on the main body of the project and has already been completed and equipment has been installed.
