Baotou Olympic Park beckons summer tourists
Baotou Olympic Park in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is becoming a popular summer tourist destination with the improvement of facilities and the local environment, according to Baotou Evening News.
As part of efforts to make the area more attractive, more than 60,000 square meters of flowers of more than 50 varieties have been planted in the park including verbena, canna lilies and day lilies.
The selection of summer flowers beautifies the area and the chosen plants can tolerate drought conditions.
The flowers started to bloom in June and now are in full bloom. The flowering period will last until early November.
