Baotou students shine at national robot competition
Inner Mongolian students are red hot when it comes to robots, if the results from recent national and international competition are anything to go by.
Wei Yuqian, a student from North Heavy Industry No 3 High School, won a bronze medal at the 19th China Adolescent Robotics Competition & World Adolescent Robot Contest 2019 held in Chongqing, according to an Aug 24 report in the Baotou Daily.
An Inner Mongolia delegation consisting of 60 students and teachers, selected by the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Association, took part in eight competitions.
These included Robot Integrated Skills Competition, Robot Creative Competition, and FLL Robot Engineering Challenge, organizers said.
Out of the delegation, one won first prize, three second prizes and 12 third prizes.
During the seven-day event, the Inner Mongolia delegation also swapped notes and shared in the fun and experience of scientific inquiry with young players from 31 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Pacific Ocean countries including Australia.
