Food additive plant nears completion in Baotou
Construction work on a food additive production plant is nearing completion with its main structure completed recently, according to an Aug 28 report in the Baotou Daily.
The project -- located in Jiuyuan district, Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- is currently undergoing equipment tests.
Developed by Baochenglian Fine Chemical Engineering Co, the project drew an investment of 100 million yuan ($13.97 million).
The new plant will cover an area of 3.33 hectares and will boast a filter workshop, four 750-square-meter materials tanks and four finished product storage tanks.
When online the plant will be able to produce 200,000 tons of hydrochloric acid annually, to be used in food additives.
After completion, it is expected to achieve annual operating income of 150 million yuan and pay taxes of 25 million yuan.
