Jiuyuan district promotes food safety
A total of 15 businesses based in Jiuyuan Green Food Processing Industrial Park – located in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- took part in the launch ceremony for an eco-friendly food project being established there, according to an Aug 27 report in the Baotou Daily.
The Jiuyuan Green Food Processing Industrial Park, launched in August 2015, is dedicated to creating a safe, green, and reliable environment for the production of agricultural and sideline products.
Officials said that after four years of development and construction, the park has finally begun taking shape, and has been strictly and effectively regulating the production and processing of its food.
It is the only industrial park in Baotou city that focuses on food processing.
The businesses that have settled in the park are required to produce products in accordance with the relevant national standards and laws and regulations on food production. Expired foods are destroyed according to the requirements. A letter of commitment was signed by the businesses.
In addition, a hotline was set up for social and media supervision.
