A science and technology event themed around new energy materials and technology was held in the Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Experts and professors from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University were invited to attend.

During the event, Chen Han, a professor from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, recounted the development history of the perovskite battery and analyzed the advantages of perovskite solar cell technology in terms of photoelectric conversion efficiency, cost, and stability.

Professor Zhang Peng discussed the latest research and applications of micro-nano materials, fiber materials, film materials, and ceramic materials.

The event is part of a series activities jointly established by the high-tech district, the Baotou Rare Earths R&D Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Baotou Materials Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The activities will display the latest scientific research achievements of 104 research institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and materials science departments of 10 colleges and universities in Shanghai, including the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The activities are expected to promote the exchange of scientific and technological resources between regions and cooperation in technological innovation between enterprises and research institutes.
