A project developed by Baotou Light Industry Vocational Technical College won the gold award at the recent Inner Mongolia Internet Plus College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, according to local media reports.

The project -- which targets refrigeration and cold storage engineering installation and integration and operations services teams -- will attend the national-level competition to be held in late October.

The latest iteration of the competition, now in its fifth season, started in May.

It attracted the participation of 46,000 students from colleges and universities in the autonomous region, with 17,600 projects being offered up for judging.

A total of 20 projects were selected from 598 innovation and entrepreneurship projects from Baotou Light Industry Vocational Technical College to take part in the autonomous region-level quarter-final.

Organizers said that two stood out and won a ticket to the final competition.
