School kids conduct interviews at international tennis match

School kids got the chance to watch the opening of the quarter finals of an international men’s tennis challenge in Baotou on Aug 30 -- and tried their hands at being journalists for the day, interviewing some of the coaches and volunteers, according to the Baotou Evening News.

The quarter final in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region was between Australian player James Duckworth and Portuguese player Goncalo Oliveira.

After the game, the young ‘journalists’ interviewed tennis coach Wang Zilong and others who answered questions about the rules of tennis and the preparations for the event.

Wang also encouraged the school kids to take part in tennis matches. “Tennis is a sport that needs practice and perseverance,” he said.

“If you want to succeed, you must continue to practice."
