Baotou Airport's total number of passengers witnessed rapid growth to reach 17,351 during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival on Sept 13-15, up 10.7 percent on the same period last year, according to local media reports.

The airport operated 170 flights during the holiday period, representing a year-on-year growth of 25 percent.

The most popular destinations of the flights – including Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang in Hebei province and Zhengzhou in Henan province -- maintained the highest seat occupancy rate.
