A succession of rousing performances were staged on Sept 19 in Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China, according to the Baotou Daily.

The choral event, co-hosted by the CPC Baotou Municipal Committee and the people’s government of Baotou, attracted the participation of 28 choirs from the city and more than 2,700 dancers.

The organizers said the whole event was divided into chapters. These included a rendition of My Motherland, Beautiful Bugthot. Bugthot is the name for Baotou city in the Mongolian language, meaning “a place of deer”.
