Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park reported that the growth in output value in the first eight months of 2019 soared 93.7 percent year on year, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

During the period the industrial park confirmed a total of 12 key new projects in strategic emerging industries for 2019 -- including new materials, new energy, new technology and high-end equipment manufacturing. The total investment will be around 12.95 billion yuan ($1.84 billion), officials said.

The thriving park is located in the northern part of Qingshan district in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

It’s engaged in the heavy vehicle, new energy and railway industries, as well as the electromechanical and engineering equipment sectors.

Officials said the industrial park has great advantages in location and transportation, being only two kilometers away from Baotou’s downtown area, 20 minutes-drive to Baotou Railway Station and 30 minutes-drive to Baotou Airport.

In addition, it is close to the Beijing-Tibetan Highway, highway G210, International Container Transfer Station and two special railway lines. As such, it is a transportation hub connecting with Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos.
