Baotou Airport launches paperless customs clearance service
Passengers can directly go through security screening and board with valid ID cards and their electronic boarding pass QR codes, after Baotou Airport recently launched paperless electronic customs clearance, according to the Baotou Daily.
Customs officials said this applies to domestic passengers who don’t need luggage check-in.
By using the paperless electronic custom clearance, processing time including waiting in queues have been sharply reduced, providing more convenience for passengers, they said.
Passengers can obtain a QR code of the electronic boarding pass through the online self-service check-in software of airline apps such as Umetrip -- and present the QR code when passing the security check which will automatically stamp the electronic security seal. Passengers can board with the QR code as long as the ID information is correct.
Currently the system does not support flights operated by Spring Airlines and 9Air Co.
