North China’s Baotou marks Winter Solstice

Children from the Baotou Science and Technology Children’s Palace learn to make dumplings in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Dec 20, in celebration of the Winter Solstice. The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. Winter Solstice is the 22nd solar term of the year and fell on Dec 22 this year.
