A girl fashions dough modeling figures on Jan 5 in Dongdashan Art Area, a vibrant art precinct located in the city of Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Baotou dough modeling is a traditional folk art originating from Shanxi province. It uses polished glutinous rice dough, painted with different colors, which is then shaped by hand and with simple tools. The folk art has been listed as part of Baotou's traditional cultural heritage since June 2012. The art area was selected as one of the sub-venues of Baotou’s Spring Festival gala for 2020, because of its rich folk culture. [Photo/Baotou Daily]
