Updated: 2020-02-13

Baotou Center Hospital is to restructure an old surgical building to create quarantine areas -- in order to better screen and observe suspected patients with the novel coronavirus pneumonia, as well as ensuring the safe diagnosis and treatment of patients with common diseases, according to a report in the Baotou Evening News.

The hospital moved all the resident departments from the surgical building, turned it into an isolation area and prepared for the installation of 50 beds.

The hospital’s fever clinic and infection department are to be moved to the quarantine area. Preparations have been made for the exclusion and screening of suspected patients with the coronavirus.

Officials said that so far, preliminary reconstruction of the building has been completed.

To fight the outbreak, the hospital has formed three echelon medical teams to ensure the timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
