Baotou Airport reopens air routes
Baotou Airport has been reopening air routes in an orderly manner to help with the overall return to work and production in Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
Since the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak -- in order to strengthen the epidemic prevention and control -- airlines cancelled or reduce flights to epidemic-stricken places including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Wuhan, Hefei, Zhengzhou and Guangzhou.
Officials said that in February, the airport operated 16 flights on a daily basis.
They added that currently, the airport is coordinating with airlines to relaunch flights to important hub cities, provincial capital cities and other places with urgent labor needs.
Starting March, the airport has been operating 38 flights on a daily basis -- linking with destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Tianjin and Nanjing.
Officials said that other air routes will be resumed in the future, according to the epidemic prevention and control work.
Passengers are required to wear a mask when entering the terminal and take body temperature measurements and register their information.
