Baotou city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region commissioned 31 key projects worth a total of 59.55 billion yuan ($8.41 billion), signed during a livestreaming investment promotion, according to an April 21 report in the Baotou Daily.

Officials said the projects cover 12 fields including the new energy industry, the new materials industry, the rare earth industry, as well as e-commerce and the big data sector.

There are both upgrade projects for traditional industries, as well as projects for strategic emerging industries with high and new technology and high-tech content.

Of the total projects approved, 25 were signed on-site and six were signed via online videos.

Officials said Baotou will now move ahead and implement the projects.
