Baotou team shines at Inner Mongolia sci-tech competition
A Baotou delegation shined at the 35th Inner Mongolia Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition -- scooping up a total of 204 prizes -- according to an April 24 report in the Baotou Daily.
Among the prizes, 40 were first prizes, 79 were second prizes and 85 were third prizes.
The competition, launched in 1982, is a regional science and technology competition jointly organized by the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Association, the Education Department, Science and Technology department and the Ecological Environment Department of Inner Mongolia.
It has become one of the largest and most influential high-level, youth science and technology education activities for primary and middle school students in the autonomous region -- with more than 300,000 young people participating every year.
Affected by the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, this year’s session took the form of a combination of online presentations and offline reviews.
More than 150 young participants from 14 leagues and cities in the autonomous region showed the judges their scientific and technological innovation works through the internet, accepted questions from the judges and interacted with them on the web.
