A total of 20 major scenic spots in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- including the Wudang Lamasery, Meiligeng Scenic Spot and Chunkun Mountain -- have now all reopened to the public, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

In order to express gratitude and respect to the country’s medical workers, from the date of the resumption of operations to Dec 31, 2020, a ticket-free policy is being offered by scenic spots at the 3A-level or above for all medical workers in China.

In addition, Baotou city is to distribute more than 100,000 tickets to residents at no charge, worth more than 4.7 million yuan ($658,623).

Officials said this is expected to boost the earnings of the city's food, accommodation, travel, shopping and entertainment services industries by more than 15 million yuan over the course of the year. 

They added that the city's cultural tourism market has gradually resumed development.

The city's 999 public cultural venues have all been reopened, 20 of the 31 A-level scenic spots have resumed work and 20 of the 21 star-rated hotels have resumed operations.
