22 key projects resume construction in Tumd Right Banner

Construction work on a total of 22 major projects each worth 100 million yuan ($13.98 million) or more has resumed in Tumd Right Banner in Baotou city, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a May 27 report in the Baotou Evening News.

The 22 projects -- involving a total investment of 7.9 billion yuan -- included strategic industrial projects such as new materials and new chemicals, as well as major social welfare projects such education, health care for the elderly and ecological and environmental protection.

In addition, a total of eight key investment projects with a total investment of 9.5 billion yuan were signed and implemented.

They cover such areas as new industries, urban and rural infrastructure transformation and upgrading, modern agriculture and the animal husbandry sector and business logistics.

Officials said that starting this year, the banner has adhered to a new direction of high-quality development with environmental priorities and green development as the guide. It has steadily increased the growth of key projects, while strengthening novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures.

They said the banner has confirmed 63 key projects with a total investment of 38.2 billion yuan for this year, of which strategic new industrial project investments accounts for more than 95 percent.

To date, 30 key projects have resumed construction.
