Baotou city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been helping to promote its tourism industry with the launch of special tourism shuttle buses, according to a June 1 report in the Baotou Daily.
The new service -- launched jointly by the Baotou Travel Agency Association and the culture, sports, tourism, radio, film and television bureau of the city’s Shiguai district -- employs two shuttle buses and also operates one-day tours in Baotou.

The starting point for the No 1 shuttle bus is at the entrance of Meihaojia Furniture Market in Hondlon district, on the West Minzu Road. The shuttle bus runs every Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 am.
The departure point for the No 2 shuttle bus is at the entrance of the Huayue Supermarket in the Binhe new area. It runs every Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 am.
Local officials said the ticket price is 39 yuan ($5.48) per person.
A lunch provided with the one-day tours was changed from the previous group meal to a menu-based offering -- to provide more choice to customers and to avoid cross infection amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.
In future, Shiguai district will also open one-day tours featuring tourist attractions including the Huawu Renjian and Wudang Lamasery, also aiming to offer locals access to tourist resources at discount prices.
