Baogang Group wins national recognition

Baogang Group was selected as the China Excellent Steel Enterprise Brand in 2020 by the prestigious industry publication China Metallurgical News, according to a June 3 report in the Baotou Evening News.

The selection was made after preliminary investigations, mathematical evaluations of brand models, WeChat voting and judging by an expert committee.

Officials said a company’s brand embodies not only the core competitiveness of an enterprise in the domestic and international economic arena, but is also an important indicator of the company's high-quality development.

Established in 1954 and based in Baotou city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Baogang Group is the largest steel company based in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

It is one of the oldest iron and steel manufacturers in China and has a major plants located in Baotou. It is also the country’s biggest scientific research and production center for rare earth metals.

Officials said that over the past year, Baogang Group has made considerable progress in brand building, with remarkable achievements in scientific and technological innovation, transformation and upgrading, green development and brand investment.

They said it has become increasingly prominent in the development of the national economy and the development strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative.

At the same time, during the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control period, Baogang Group had actively donated money and materials and sent medics to Hubei province in Central China to treat patients, which was highly recognized by the selection committee and society, officials added.
