Baotou speeds up renovation of old communities

Hondlon district -- in Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- plans to spend 110 million yuan ($15.74 million) in renovating 79 older residential areas in the current year, in a bid to enhance living conditions, according to a report in the Baotou Evening News.
The work includes residential areas covering some 350,000 square meters.
After the renovation of is finished, the renovation of communities built in Hondlon district -- including the urban-rural junctions -- for the year 2000 will be basically complete, officials said.
Moving forwards, the district will continue to invite experts to conduct research and assessments on the work and strive to further renovate and reconstruct old communities beset by problems by 2021.
