Efforts have been made in recent years to completely restore the environment of Daqingshan National Nature Reserve in Baotou -- in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- by developing a green barrier in North China, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
A giant cleanup of 164 industrial and mining enterprises within the Baotou section of Daqing Mountain and the 300-year history of quarrying in Daqingshan has ended.
Officials said that with the implementation of a series of environment improvement projects, a new green belt has been established in the area along Daqing Mountain, forming a beautiful landscape.
Officials said that next, Baotou will continue to increase supervision and comprehensively promote environmental management and the ecological restoration of Daqing Mountain, in strict accordance with the blueprint: the Overall Planning for Inner Mongolia Daqingshan National Nature Reserve.
Measures will include developing eco-tourism and maintaining the natural and original unique characteristics of the environmental tourism resources of Daqing Mountain.
