Baotou to renovate 117 residential areas in 2020

A total of 117 old residential areas in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, are to be renovated and upgraded in 2020, with total investment of 41 million yuan ($5.86 million), according to local media reports.

The residential areas cover an area of 3.06 million square meters.

Officials said the renovation will benefit residents in eight banners, counties and districts in Baotou.

At present, there are 75 projects under construction, involving an area of 1.59 million sq m and 12 completed projects with an area of 541,800 sq m.

Officials said the renovation and upgrade mainly includes residential area roads, water supply, heating, power supply, greening the exterior areas, lighting, walls -- as well as the construction and renovation of markets.
